TMD FREE is the international, English-language version of the DTM FREE project, developed to provide information, education, and self-care tools for people living with Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD).
The project was inspired by clinical experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and by the recognition that people with TMD often need guidance not only about jaw pain and function, but also about everyday habits and physical and emotional factors that may influence their symptoms.
An Integrated Approach
TMD FREE was designed to help users better understand their symptoms and recognize factors that may influence them.
The app provides educational content and guidance on topics such as:
Jaw, facial, head, neck, and shoulder discomfort
Muscle tension and teeth clenching
Habits and behaviors associated with TMD
Posture and muscle relaxation
Conscious breathing
Feelings, emotions, and body tension awareness
Self-care strategies
Symptom tracking
Reminders to help users incorporate healthier habits into their daily routines
Education and Self-Care
One of the core principles of TMD FREE is to transform health information into guidance that is simple, accessible, and applicable to everyday life.
Through educational content, videos, symptom tracking, and interactive tools, TMD FREE encourages users to become more aware of their symptoms and take an active role in their self-care.
A Project in Continuous Development
TMD FREE is an independent project that has been under development since 2025, progressing through planning, technological development, clinical content creation, testing, and continuous improvement.
The project is available in two versions:
DTM FREE — Portuguese version
TMD FREE — English version for an international audience
Important Information
